Harper scores twice as the Otters halt seven-game winless streak

OSHAWA, Ont. - Stephen Harper scored twice as the Erie Otters defeated the host Oshawa Generals 7-4 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Dane Fox and J.P. Labardo had a goal and an assist each for the Otters (16-29-8), who snapped a seven-game winless streak, while Connor McDavid, Luke Cairns and Spencer Abraham each scored once.

Matt Petgrave led the Generals (29-19-4) with two goals and an assist and Scott Laughton also scored twice.

Otters' goaltender Devin Williams made 42 saves for the win while Ken Appleby started in goal for the Generals and allowed three goals on 15 shots before being pulled early in the second period. Daniel Altshuller picked up the loss after stopping 14-of-17 shots in 37 minutes of relief.

Erie went 3 for 7 on the power play while Oshawa scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.
