Tanus, Clarke, Thompson each score twice as Petes outslug 67's 10-6

OTTAWA - Jonatan Tanus, Michael Clarke and Cody Thompson each scored twice for the Peterborough Petes, who outslugged the Ottawa 67's 10-6 in a battle between the two worst teams in the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference.

Nick Czinder, Eric Cornel and Stephen Pierog also scored for the Petes (17-28-7) while Nelson Armstrong and Brett Findlay chipped in with three assists each Wednesday.

Sean Monahan had two goals for the 67's (14-34-4), and Joseph Blandisi, John Urbanic, Brendan Bell and Connor Brown added singles. Andrew D'Agostini made 31 saves for the Petes.

The Petes built a 5-1 by the first intermission. They added a sixth goal early in the second period to chase Jacob Blair from the Ottawa goal after 28 shots. Clint Windsor replaced Blair and allowed the final four goals while making 20 saves.

The 67's trailed 8-1 seven minutes into the second period, but mounted a comeback through the second half of the game that ended when Thompson made it a 10-6 game with less than two minutes to play.
