WINDSOR, Ont. - Michael Clarke scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Peterborough Petes defeated the Windsor Spitfires 7-5 in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday.

Chase Hatcher, Stephen Pierog, Jonatan Tanus, Stephen Nosad and Greg Betzold had the other goals for the Petes (15-27-7), while Nick Ritchie chipped in with three assists.

Michael Giugovaz made 30 saves to pick up the win.

Clarke's first-period goal and third-period game winner were his first two as a Pete since being acquired from Windsor earlier this month.

The Petes jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period and upped that advantage to 5-2 midway through the second.

Windsor goalie Jaroslav Pavelka was pulled after allowing five goals on 26 shots and was replaced by Jordan Dekort, who made 20 saves in a relief effort

Nick Ebert, Kerby Rychel, Remy Giftopoulos, Brady Vail, Ben Johnson scored for the Spitfires (20-22-7), who got three goals in just under eight minutes to knot the game at 5-5 after two periods of play.

But Clarke's second of the night and Betzold's empty-netter in the third period were the difference.
