Flames expect Cervenka, Hudler back Saturday

The Calgary Flames said Roman Cervenka and Jiri Hudler should be available for Saturday's home game against the Edmonton Oilers. Neither forward played in either of the team's two games so far this season and won't play Wednesday night at the Vancouver Canucks.

Cervenka returned Tuesday from Phoenix, where he was seen by a specialist at the Mayo Clinic. He's been sidelined with a blood clot in his leg. He's been on anticoagulant drugs, and the team wanted to make sure he could be taken off the blood-thinners before returning to play. The Flames said he has been cleared to practice Thursday and will be eligible to play Saturday.

Hudler is expected to return to Calgary late Tuesday following the death of his father in the Czech Republic last week. The Flames, who signed him to a four-year contract this summer, said he will be added to the active roster Wednesday but will not make the trip to Vancouver for the game against the Canucks. He also will be eligible to play Saturday.
