KENNEWICK, Wash. - Justin Feser had a natural hat trick and an assist to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-3 victory Sunday over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action.
With his third goal of the night, Feser hit the 300-point mark for his career.
"I read that I needed a certain number of points, but I didn't focus on that," said Feser, the Americans' team captain. "Getting the two points tonight was more important than my personal stats."
Zach Yuen and Justin Gutierrez also scored for Tri-City (24-16-3), while Malte Stromwall added three assists and Luke Lee-Knight made 26 saves in his first home start this season.
Gutierrez's goal was the first of his career.
"I was as happy for his first goal as I was my 300th point," said Feser, who also played his 292nd consecutive regular-season game, which ranks second all-time in the WHL.
Seattle had a goal disallowed at 3:59 of the third period for interfering with the goalie. The goal would have tied the score at 3-3.
