Cave scores winner as the Broncos beat the Hitmen

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Colby Cave scored the winner at 9:47 of the third period as the Swift Current Broncos edged the visiting Calgary Hitmen 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Adam Lowry and Richard Nedomlel each had a goal and an assist for the Broncos (21-20-5), who extended their win streak to four games, while Graham Black added a single goal.

The two-point outing from Lowry extends his point streak to a league-best 20 games and he has 19 goals and 35 points in the process.

Chase Lang, Jake Virtanen and Zane Jones had a goal and an assist apiece for the Hitmen (30-11-4), who had their win streak halted at six games.

Eetu Laurikainen started in goal for the Broncos but he allowed three goals on eight shots and was replaced by Landon Bow, who earned the win after stopping all 12 shots he faced in 28 minutes of relief.

Chris Driedger stopped 31-of-35 shots in a losing cause for the Hitmen.

Swift Current went 1 for 4 on the power play while Calgary failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
