REGINA - Brady Brassart scored twice as the Calgary Hitmen downed the host Regina Pats 6-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Jake Virtanen also had two goals for Calgary (30-10-4), which extended its win streak to six games, while Brooks Macek and Brendan Hurley each scored once.

Scoring the lone goal for Regina (18-23-4) was Morgan Klimchuk.

The Hitmen got all the offence they would need in the first period as Macek opened the scoring 13 seconds into the game and Brassart added two more to make it 3-0 after 20 minutes of play.

Regina replaced goalie Teagan Sacher in net with Matt Hewitt to start the second period and Klimchuk scored seven minutes in to put the Pats on the board, however Virtanen responded for the Hitmen to make it 4-1 heading into the final period.

Virtanen scored again 20 seconds into the third period and Hurley added Calgary's final goal.

Chris Driedger made 32 stops for the win as Sacher made 12 saves in a losing cause. Hewitt stopped 14-of-17 shots in relief.

Calgary went 1 for 5 with the power play while Regina went 1 for 6.
