QMJHL Roundup: Angelo Miceli scores 2 to help Victoriaville rally past Quebec

Angelo Miceli scored twice as the Victoriaville Tigres stormed past the Quebec Remparts 5-3 on Thursday in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Tigres squandered a 2-0 lead after the Remparts scored three unanswered goals, but Victoriaville rallied back with three of their own starting with Miceli's tying goal in the second period.

Dominik Rehak scored in the third and Miceli added his second of the game into an empty net to help Victoriaville (15-15-6) overcome second-place Quebec (23-9-3).

Jean-Francois Leblanc and Michael Rheaume also scored for the Tigres, while goaltender Brandon Whitney made 27 saves.

Anthony Duclair scored twice and Martin Lefebvre added a single for the Remparts.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Acadie-Bathurst 3, Saint John 0.

At Victoriaville, Que., Leblanc and Rheaume each scored in the first to give the Tigres their early lead, but Duclair cut the lead by one at 18:50.

Duclair tied the game 4:30 into the second period, and Lefebvre's power-play goal at 12:16 gave Quebec its first and last lead.

It was short-lived. Miceli scored his first of the game less than two minutes later on the power play, setting up a third period that saw the Tigres score twice despite being outshot 15-6.

Francois Brassard started in net for the Remparts but was pulled after allowing four goals on 18 shots. He was replaced by Zachary Fortin, who made four saves.

Titan 3, Sea Dogs 0

At Saint John, N.S., Jacob Brennan stopped 29 saves for the shutout to help Acadie-Bathurst (13-19-5) beat the Sea Dogs (16-18-0) despite a 42-save performance from Saint John goaltender Sebastien Auger.
