CALGARY - Henrik Samuelsson scored a pair of short-handed goals and added an assist Tuesday to lead the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League.

Curtis Lazar added a goal and an assist for the Oil Kings (23-7-5), who have won five games in a row. Cody Corbett also scored for Edmonton.

Greg Chase replied for the Hitmen (23-8-4), whose winning streak was snapped at three games.

Laurent Brossoit stopped 15 shots in the Edmonton net, while Chris Driedger made 27 saves at the other end in taking the loss.

Special teams played a large part in the win for the Oil Kings, who went 2-for-4 on the power play on top of Samuelsson's pair of short-handed goals. Meanwhile, the Hitmen failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Chase scored the only goal of the first period before Edmonton erupted for three goals in the second.

In addition to Samuelsson's two short-handed goals in the middle period, Corbett also scored during an Edmonton man advantage.

Lazar then added a power-play goal late in the third period to round out the scoring.
