Pancel scores winner as the Wolves beat the Steelheads

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Nathan Pancel scored the winning goal to lead the Sudbury Wolves to a 3-1 victory over the host Mississauga Steelheads on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Brody Silk and Joshua Leivo also scored for the Wolves (14-16-6) while Mathew Campagna contributed with two assists.

Stuart Percy had the lone goal for the Steelheads (18-12-3).

Joel Vienneau made 20 saves for Sudbury and Spencer Martin turned aside 27 shots for Mississauga.

Percy opened the scoring for the Steelheads with a point shot that deflected off a Sudbury defender midway through the second period, but the lead didn't last long as Silk jammed a rebound past Martin with 3:20 left in the period to tie the game 1-1.

Pancel collected the rebound off of Campagna's point shot 1:06 later to make it 2-1 Sudbury and Leivo capped off the game with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the third period.

The Wolves finished 0 for 3 on the power play while the Steelheads went 0 for 4.
