Van Guilder, Beck guide Milwaukee Admirals past Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3

MILWAUKEE - Mark Van Guilder scored and Taylor Beck added two assists as the Milwaukee Admirals slipped past the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Victor Bartley and Kevin Henderson also scored for Milwaukee (12-11-3), while Jeremy Smith stopped 28 shots for the win.

Antoine Corbin, Gabriel Dumont and Jarred Tinordi replied for Hamilton (10-12-2). Goaltender Cedrick Desjardins made 29 saves for the Bulldogs.

The Admirals opened the scoring at 5:57 of the opening frame on a goal by Beck. He shot from behind the goal-line and bounced the puck off the back off Desjardins back and into the net.

Milwaukee made it 2-0 on a goal by Henderson at 5:46 of the second. Chris Mueller entered the offensive zone and tried a shot which was blocked and the puck bounced out to the slot where Henderson put the rebound past Desjardins.

The Bulldogs cut the lead in half on Corbin's first professional goal at 16:44 of the second period.

Corbin fired the puck from the left point which was tipped in front of the net past the Admirals' Smith.

Milwaukee regained its two-goal lead at 18:53 of the second on Van Guilder's goal. After Michael Latta put a shot on net, the puck came free in front and Van Guilder put it past Desjardins.

Hamilton cut the lead to 3-2 just 46 seconds into the third period on Tinordi's first professional goal. He took a shot which bounced off of a player in front of the net and past Smith.

Milwaukee made the score 4-2 on a goal by Bartley at 6:39 of the third period. Bartley leaned into a shot from the top of the far face-off circle and the blast flew by Desjardins.

Dumont scored another Bulldogs goal 13:12 into the third period. Brendon Nash fed the puck out in front of the net and Dumont redirected it past Smith.
