KITCHENER, Ont. - Dante Salituro had the shootout winner as the Ottawa 67’s beat the Kitchener Rangers 2-1 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

It was only the second win for Ottawa (8-22-3) in its last 17 games.

It was also the fourth shootout for the Rangers (18-9-1-3) in the past five games, which they split with two wins and two losses.

Steven Janes scored his 12th goal for the 67’s.

Cory Genovese, with his first goal of the season, scored for the Rangers.

Clint Windsor turned aside 35 of 36 shots to get just his second win of the season and snap Ottawa’s eight-game losing streak.

Franky Palazzese stopped 23 shots in the loss, the Rangers’ third in a row.

The Rangers were 0-for-2 on the power play, while Ottawa scored in their lone opportunity with the man advantage.

Genovese opened the scoring at 13:45 of the first period, blasting a shot past Windsor on a delayed penalty call.

The 67’s got that one back on a power play near the midway point of the second period, when Janes wired a shot over Palazzese’s glove from the top of the left faceoff circle.

That was it until the shootout, when Cody Ceci and Salituro scored for Ottawa. Radek Faksa was the only Ranger to beat Windsor.
