Stransky and Nicholls each score twice as the Blades crush the Pats

SASKATOON - Matej Stransky had two goals and two assists as the Saskatoon Blades crushed the visiting Regina Pats 9-0 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Josh Nicholls scored twice and had an assist for the Blades (14-14-1), who won for the first time in three outings, while Brenden Walker had a goal and two assists.

Adam Kambeitz, Nick Zajac, Nathan Burns and Dalton Thrower also scored for Saskatoon.

Andrey Makarov only had to make 15 saves for the shutout while Teagan Sacher picked up the loss after allowing five goals on 23 shots before getting pulled. Matt Hewitt stopped 17-of-22 shots in 28 minutes of relief for the Pats (11-17-4).

Neither club had any success with the power play as Saskatoon went 0 for 5 and Regina 0 for 7.
