Jones scores twice as the Hitmen down the Oil Kings 5-2

EDMONTON - Zane Jones scored twice in the third period, including the winner, as the Calgary Hitmen downed the host Edmonton Oil Kings 5-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Cody Sylvester, Pavlo Padakin and Carson Samoridny also scored for the Hitmen (19-6-3), who have won three games in a row, while Brooks Macek and Brady Brassart each had two assists.

Edgars Kulda and Curtis Lazar scored for the Oil Kings (18-7-5).

Chris Driedger made 34 saves for the win as Laurent Brossoit turned aside 33 shots in a losing cause.

Calgary went 0 for 5 on the power play while Edmonton scored once on four chances with the man advanatge.
