WINDSOR, Ont. - Kerby Rychel scored the game winner and Jaroslav Pavelka made 38 saves as the Windsor Spitfires edged the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Thursday.

Ben Johnson and Brady Vail had the other goals for the Spitfires (12-12-5).

Sergei Tolchinsky and Michael Schumacher replied for the Greyhounds (13-15-2), while Matt Murray made 34 saves.

The turning point of the game came on Vail's power-play goal with 43 seconds remaining in the second period to tie the game at two.

Rychel scored what proved to be the decisive goal when he crashed the crease to tap home a rebound of a Zach Lorentz shot from a goalmouth scramble with just 4:18 remaining in the third period. Rychel's 18th goal of the season gave the Spitfires their only lead of the night, and the final one it turned out.

The loss spoiled the debut of Sheldon Keefe as Greyhounds' head coach after replacing Mike Stapleton.
