KITCHENER, Ont. - Brock McGinn and Jason Dickinson each scored in the shootout for Guelph as the Storm edged the Kitchener Rangers 3-2 on Tuesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Tanner Richard scored in the final minute of regulation to force extra time for the Storm (18-9-3), while Zach Mitchell added a goal and assist for the Storm.

Brent Pedersen and Ben Thomson scored for the Rangers (18-8-3), who lost for the first time in three straight shootouts.

Franky Palazzese turned aside 41 shots for Kitchener, which were beaten for just the third time at home this season.

Garret Sparks stopped 33-of-35 shots for the Storm, giving Guelph five wins in their past six games.

Pedersen opened the scoring at 6:28 of the first period, jamming a rebound past Sparks to send 8,870 stuffed animals onto the ice as part of Teddy Bear Toss Night.

Guelph tied the game just 1:26 into the second period, as Mitchell slid a rebound past Palazzese before he could cover it up with his glove.

Thomson gave the Rangers the lead on the power play with 3:54 left in regulation time, deflecting Ryan Murphy's point shot out of midair and under Sparks.

The Storm tied the game with 57 seconds remaining with Sparks pulled for the extra attacker, as Richard jumped on a rebound at the top of the goal crease and knocked it past a diving Palazzese.

In the shootout, Pedersen was the only Rangers' shooter to beat Sparks, as he turned aside Radek Faksa and Matia Marcantuoni. Palazzese was beaten by both shooters he faced.
