Josh Currie scored twice in regulation and once more in the shootout as the P.E.I. Rocket came from behind to beat the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
The 20-year-old also picked up an assist and now has 26 goals and 51 points in 28 games, which leads the QMJHL in scoring.
Ben Duffy had a goal and an assist for the Rocket (16-10-2) to go along with the shootout winner and sits second in league scoring, two points behind teammate Currie.
Clarke Bishop and Charles Guevremont each had a goal and an assist for the Screaming Eagles (7-17-6), who led 3-1 late into the second period, and Michael Clarke scored the other.
Neither team could produce with the power play as Cape Breton and P.E.I. both went 0 for 3 with the man advantage.
The Rocket have now won three games straight while the Screaming Eagles are winless in their last seven outings.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was Rimouski 4, Saint John 1; Acadie-Bathurst 7, Chicoutimi 4; Halifax 3, Victoriaville 2; Quebec 3, Baie-Comeau 1; Drummondville 7, Blainville-Boisbriand 6 (OT); Val-d'Or 6, Shawinigan 2 and Gatineau 3, Sherbrooke 2 (OT).
At Charlottetown, Bishop and Clarke scored five minutes apart in the opening period for Cape Breton, but Currie responded at 17:15 for P.E.I. to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes of play.
Guevremont restored the two-goal lead for the Screaming Eagles 6:59 into the second period, however Currie scored again to bring his club within one goal. His second goal of the game came shorthanded at 16:14.
Despite being outshot 9-4 in the final 20 minutes, Duffy scored the Rocket's second short-handed goal of the game at 18:58 to force extra time.
After nothing was solved in overtime, Currie and Duffy both scored in the shootout for P.E.I. while Clarke and Alexandre Lavoie were turned away for Cape Breton.

At Saint John, N.B., Francis Beauvillier scored in his seventh straight game and Peter Trainor chipped in with two assists as Rimouski (17-9-4) defeated the Sea Dogs (14-14-0) for its third win in as many games.

At Bathurst N.B., Francois Godin and Matthew Bissonnette had two goals and an assist apiece and Zach O'Brien set up three goals for his club as the Titan (11-15-5) downed Chicoutimi (14-14-3), which is winless in three outings.
Mooseheads 3 Tigres 2
At Halifax, Stefan Fournier scored the winner with less than four minutes to play in the third period and Zachary Fucale turned away 26 shots as the Mooseheads (23-3-1) handed Victoriaville (11-13-5) its third loss in a row.
Remparts 3 Drakkar 1
At Baie-Comeau, Que., Mikhail Grigorenko had a goal and an assist and Francois Brassard stopped 37-of-38 shots as Quebec (20-7-1) halted its three-game slide by defeating the Drakkar (17-9-3), who are now winless in four outings.
Voltiguers 7 Armada 6 (OT)
At Drummondville, Que., Marc-Olivier Roy set up four goals for Blainville-Boisbriand, but it wasn't enough as Jerome Verrier scored twice, including the winner 3:40 into overtime, as the Voltiguers (16-12-1) put an end to the Armada's (21-5-3) eight-game winning streak.
Foreurs 6 Cataractes 2
At Shawinigan, Que., Vincent Dunn scored three times and set up one more as Val-d'Or (15-12-2) came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Cataractes (4-21-3), who are winless in eight contests.
Olympiques 3 Phoenix 2 (OT)
At Sherbrooke, Que., Tomas Hyka scored the winner 47 seconds into extra time and Deric Boudreau had a goal and an assist as Gatineau (11-16-1) edged the Phoenix (6-19-3).
