WINDSOR, Ont. - Brady Vail scored the shootout winner as the Windsor Spitfires edged the visiting Ottawa 67s 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.
Chris Marchese opened the scoring in the first period on a power play for the Spitfires (11-12-6), who snapped a three-game winless streak.
Taylor Fielding tied the game for the 67's (7-20-3) in the second period when he chipped home a centering pass from Dante Salituro.
Jaroslav Pavelka made 22 saves for the win as Jacob Blair turned away 40-of-41 shots in a losing cause.
Windsor went 1 for 4 on the power play while Ottawa failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.
