OHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games

Seth Griffith set up four of his club's goals as the London Knights came from behind to defeat the visiting Barrie Colts 5-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

The 19-year-old forward, who had his 13-game point streak snapped on Thursday in a 3-1 victory against the Kitchener Rangers, has 19 goals and 48 points in 28 games, which puts him second in OHL scoring behind Niagara IceDogs' forward Ryan Strome.

Bo Horvat scored twice for the Knights (21-5-2), who were down 2-0 less than nine minutes into the first period, while Max Domi and Alex Broadhurst had a goal and two assists apiece.

Domi has produced six goals and 16 points in his last 10 outings and his 38 points in 28 games places him second in team scoring behind Griffith.

Josh Anderson scored the other goal for London, which has won 13 games in a row and sit first in the OHL standings.

Aaron Ekblad, Ryan O'Connor and Zach Hall scored for the Colts (19-8-1), who still remain the top team in the Eastern Conference standings.

Kevin Bailie turned away 30 shots for his 11th win of the season as Mathias Niederberger stopped 36-of-41 shots in a losing cause.

London went 2 for 3 on the power play while Barrie scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Oshawa 4, Kingston 2; Kitchener 3, Windsor 2 (SO); Plymouth 4, Ottawa 1; Sarnia 7, Saginaw 4; Sault Ste. Marie 6, Erie 4; Guelph 3, Brampton 2; Niagara 6, Mississauga 4 and Owen Sound 6, Sudbury 4.

At London, Ont., Hall opened the scoring for the Colts 2:54 into the first period and Ekblad extended his club's lead with a short-handed goal at 8:54.

Broadhurst put the Knights on the board at 11:22 and it stayed 2-1 for Barrie until 5:40 of the second period when Horvat tied the game for London.

Horvat and Anderson each scored a power-play goal, less than two minutes apart, to give the Knights a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.

O'Connor brought Barrie within one goal when he scored on the power play at 3:13 of the third period, however Domi responded for London at 12:21.

At Kitchener, Ont., Eric Ming scored the shootout winner and Franky Palazzese turned aside 30-of-32 shots, including a Brady Vail penalty shot in the second period, as the Rangers (17-8-2) edged Windsor (10-12-6) for their 11th win in 13 home games.

At Plymouth, Mich., Stefan Noesen scored twice and Alex Nedeljkovic turned away 22 shots as the Whalers (14-8-4) defeated Ottawa (7-19-2), which is winless in its last four outings.

At Sarnia, Ont., Reid Boucher and Charles Sarault combined for five goals and 10 points while Alex Galchenyuk chipped in with a goal and two assists as the Sting (14-11-2) beat Saginaw (11-14-3).

At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Colin Miller, Brandon Alderson, Darnell Nurse and Nick Cousins had a goal and an assist each as the Greyhounds (13-13-2) defeated Erie (7-16-5), which are winless in five straight contests.

At Guelph, Ont., Andrey Pedan and Zac Leslie had a goal and an assist each as the Storm (17-8-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead and hung on to beat Brampton (12-11-5), which has dropped three games in a row.

At Mississauga, Ont., Ryan Strome scored two goals and added two assists, which gives him an OHL leading 56 points in 29 games, as Niagara (18-9-2) built up a 4-0 lead and held on to defeat the Steelheads (17-9-1).

At Sudbury, Ont., Cameron Brace had two goals and an assist as Owen Sound (19-5-3) downed the Wolves (10-15-4), who got a hat trick from forward Nathan Pancel in the loss.
