Fristch, Cousins score in Greyhounds' 5-4 shootout win over Wolves

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Nick Cousins and Andrew Fritsch scored in the shootout to lift the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds over the Sudbury Wolves 5-4 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

David Broll and Brandon Alderson both had a goal and two assists in regulation time for Sault Ste. Marie (12-13-2), while Colin Miller and Landon Schiller chipped in as well.

Charlie Dodero had a short-handed goal for Sudbury (10-14-4), while Jacob Harris, Frank Corrado and Mathew Campagna scored as well. Domink Kahun had the lone shootout goal for the Wolves.

Goaltender Matt Murray made 34 saves and turned aside two skaters in the shootout to earn the win. Joel Vienneau stopped 32 shots for Sudbury.

The Greyhounds needed a last-minute goal from Miller to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Schiller's goal also marked the rookie forward's first OHL point.

Defenceman Ryan Spoul set up a pair of goals for the Greyhounds, giving the veteran six points in four games since returning from injury where he missed 16 games.

The Greyhounds scored once in two power-play attempts while the Wolves were 1-for-3 on the man advantage.
