Sandhu scores twice as the Silvertips beat the Ice 4-3

EVERETT, Wash. - Tyler Sandhu scored two goals to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Kootenay Ice on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Reid Petryk and Ty Mappin also scored for Everett (10-15-2) while Joshua Winquist, who returned to the lineup after missing 13 games, had two assists.

Tanner Muth, Jon Martin and Jakub Prochazka scored for Kootenay (7-15-1), which dropped its third straight contest.

Daniel Cotton made 34 saves to earn the win as Mackenzie Skapski turned aside 24 shots in a losing cause.

Everett went 1-for-4 on the power play while Kootenay failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
