Sarault with five points as the Sting beat the Petes 8-2

SARNIA, Ont. - Charlie Sarault scored once and added four assists as the Sarnia Sting crushed the visiting Peterborough Petes 8-2 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League play.

Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and three assists for the Sting (13-11-2), who snapped a five-game winless streak, and Connor Murphy and Reid Boucher each scored twice.

Brett Hargrave and Alexandre Renaud, who scored his first career OHL goal, each scored once to round out Sarnia's offence.

The Petes (5-18-2) fell behind 6-0 before Nick Ritchie broke JP Anderson's shutout bid. Greg Betzold scored the only other goal as Peterborough lost its fourth game in a row.

Anderson made 30 saves for the win while Andrew D'Agostini allowed three goals on 10 shots in the opening period.

Back-up Michael Giugovaz replaced D'Agostini to begin the second, but allowed three goals on three shots less than four minutes in and D'Agostini was forced back into action. He finished the night with 20 saves.

The Sting went 3-for-7 on the power play while the Petes were 1-for-3.
