Jason Dickinson has hat trick as Storm hammers Steelheads 8-0

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Jason Dickinson scored three goals as the Guelph Storm hammered the Mississauga Steelheads 8-0 in Wednesday's Ontario Hockey League matinee tilt at the Hershey Centre.

Cody McNaughton scored twice while Scott Kosmachuk, Andrey Pedan and Justin Auger also tallied for the Storm (14-8-3). Tanner Richard contributed with three assists.

Garret Sparks made 29 saves to earn the shutout while Spencer Martin was replaced by Tyson Teichmann in the second period after allowing five goals on 20 shots for the Steelheads (16-7-1). Teichmann finished with 12 saves.

The game was Mississauga's annual school day game with more than 3,500 fans in attendance.

Guelph dominated the first period, outshooting Mississauga 10-1 midway through the period after McNaughton opened the scoring before the five minute mark.

Later in the first, Kosmachuk and Dickinson each scored on the power play with Mississauga's Scott Teskey serving a double minor for hitting from behind.

Dickinson also scored on a penalty shot in the second period and off a goalmouth scrum in the third.

The Storm went 2-for-4 on the power play while the Steelheads were blanked on four chances.
