QMJHL Roundup: A look at Sunday's games

Peter Trainor scored three times and added an assist as the Rimouski Oceanic edged the host Baie-Comeau Drakkar 5-4 in overtime on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 19-year-old forward completed his hat trick with the winning goal at 3:15 of the extra period and he now has a nine-game point streak that includes eight goals and nine assists.

Francis Beauvillier had a goal and two assists for the Oceanic (13-8-4), Jess Tanguy had a goal and an assist while Ryan MacKinnon chipped in with three assists.

Raphael Bussieres scored once and set up two more for the Drakkar (16-4-3), who have earned at least one point in each of their last 15 outings, and Maxim Lamarche, Steve Lebel and Samuel Noreau each scored once.

Philippe Desrosiers made 22 saves for the win as Philippe Cadorette turned away 18 shots in a losing cause.

Rimouski went 3-for-6 on the power play while Baie-Comeau went 2-for-7.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Quebec 3, Victoriaville 2 (SO); Saint John 4, Acadie-Bathurst 2; Rouyn-Noranda 6, Cape Breton 2; Halifax 4, Val-d'Or 3; Blainville-Boisbriand 5, Sherbrooke 1; and Drummondville 4, Chicoutimi 2.

At Baie-Comeau, Tanguy opened the scoring at 14:20 of the first period, however Lamarche and Noreau responded for Rimouski to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes of play.

Trainor tied the game for Rimouski 6:59 into the second period and Beauvillier gave his club a 3-2 lead going into the second intermission.

Trainor made it 4-2 for the Oceanic just 1:39 into the third period, but Bussieres and Lebel scored a minute apart to tie the game 4-4 and force overtime.

At Quebec City, Logan Shaw scored the shootout winner and Francois Brassard stopped 26-of-28 shots as the Remparts (17-5-0) edged Victoriaville (10-8-4), which has dropped back-to-back games.

At Bathurst, N.B., Ryan Tesink scored three times and Jonathan Huberdeau set up two of them as Saint John (11-12-0) handed the Titan (9-13-4) their fifth loss in a row.

At Sydney, N.S., Maxime St-Cyr had a goal and two assists and Alexandre Belanger turned away 25-of-27 shots as Rouyn-Noranda (14-8-1) beat Cape Breton (7-12-5).

At Halifax, Andrew Ryan and Jonathan Drouin each scored twice and Nathan MacKinnon and Stefan Fournier had two assists apiece as the Mooseheads (19-2-1) slipped past Val-d'Or (12-10-2).

At Boisbriand, Que., Stefan Jr Matteau scored twice and added an assist while Etienne Marcoux made 21 saves as the Armada (18-5-2) downed Sherbrooke (4-18-2) for their fifth win in as many outings.

At Drummondville, Que., Jeremie Malouin registered his first career hat trick and Jerome Verrier chipped in with two assists as the Voltiguers (13-11-0) doubled up Chicoutimi (10-11-3).
