KINGSTON, Ont. - Sam Bennett scored the winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout as the Kingston Frontenacs edged the visiting Niagara IceDogs 5-4 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Darcy Greenaway had a goal and an assist for the Frontenacs (12-9-0), who have won five games in a row, while Cody Alcock, Henri Ikonen and Sam Povorozniouk each scored once.
Brett Ritchie scored twice for the IceDogs (15-7-2), who had their three-game winning streak halted, and Anthony DiFruscia and Brook Hiddink had a goal apiece.
Mike Morrison made 27 saves for the win as Christopher Festarini stopped 35 shots in a losing cause.
Kingston went 0-for-3 on the power play while Niagara scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
