O'Connor with four points as the Colts crush the Wolves 7-2

SUDBURY, Ont. - Ryan O'Connor scored twice and set up two more as the Barrie Colts crushed the host Sudbury Wolves 7-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League play.

Brendan Lemieux also had two goals for the Colts (17-5-1) while Andreas Athanasiou, Anthony Camara and Mark Scheifele rounded out the scoring.

Dominik Kahun and Brody Silk had goals for the Wolves (9-13-2).

Alex Fotinos made 34 saves in the win. Joel Vienneau gave up three goals on 14 shots before being relieved by Taylor Dupuis, who stopped 25 shots in 36 minutes of action.

The Colts opened the scoring on the power play late in the first period after O'Connor unloaded a slap shot from the point that beat Vienneau blocker side at 19:05.

Camara made it 2-0 on a breakaway just 18 seconds in the second period after he fooled Vienneau with a backhand-to-forehand deke.

Dupuis replaced Vienneau between the pipes after a shot from Lemieux squeaked through his five-hole and over the goal line at 3:24.

Silk made it 3-1 at 5:13 after he finished a tic-tac-toe play from the side of the net, but Athanasiou connected on a one-timer just over a minute later to restore Barrie's three-goal lead.

Kahun cut into the Wolves' deficit at 11:13 on the power play as he received a pass in the slot and beat Fotinos high blocker side.

O'Connor scored his second of the game on the power play at 19:29 to give Barrie a 5-2 lead.

Lemieux also scored his second goal after he picked up a loose puck on a rebound in front of the net at 2:29 of the third period.

Mark Scheifele made it 7-2 at 14:35.

Barrie wound up 2-for-8 on the power play while Sudbury went 1-for-1.
