PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Peterborough Petes rode three goals from Nick Ritchie to a 5-2 win over the Ottawa 67's in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Stephen Nosad and Slater Koekkoek added single goals for Peterborough (5-14-3).

Steven Janes and Cody Ceci replied for Ottawa (6-13-2).

Ritchie had a strong return from an extended absence with a shoulder injury, scoring both of the game's goals in the first period. He took a pass from Alan Quine and ripped a wrist shot in off the bottom of the cross bar at 15:24 to open the scoring.

After a drive to the net drew an Ottawa penalty, Ritchie knocked home a power-play goal at 19:13.

Janes scored just 11 seconds into a 67's power play midway through the second for the only goal of the period.

Nosad finished off a dandy three-way passing play at 3:24 of the third before Richie completed his hat trick 35 seconds later.

Ceci found the open net shortly before the midway mark of the period but Koekkoek restored the three-goal lead three minutes later.

Michael Giugovaz made 32 saves to earn the win. Clint Windsor stopped 34 shots in a losing cause for Ottawa.
