Blake Clarke snaps 2-2 tie in third period as Battalion beats Wolves 4-2

SUDBURY, Ont. - With fans in attendance from North Bay, the visiting Brampton Battalion gave them something to smile about as they beat the Sudbury Wolves 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Wednesday.

Mike Amadio, Barclay Goodrow, Blake Clarke and Matt MacLeod scored for the Battalion (9-8-3-2). Joshua Leivo and Nathan Pancel replied for the Wolves (8-12-0-2).

Matej Machovsky turned aside 29 shots for Brampton, while Joel Vienneau made 34 saves for Sudbury.

Leivo opened the scoring for the Wolves at 1:34 in the first period when his wrist shot deflected off a defenceman's stick and over Machovsky's glove.

Amadio tied the game on the power play at 1:46 of the second period when he capitalized on a rebound in front of the net and beat Vienneau with a backhand shot. Goodrow made it 2-1 Brampton on a breakaway at 10:18.

Pancel tied the game for the Wolves on the power play at 17:33 of the second period.

Clarke scored the winner at 8:36 of the third period after the puck hit his skate and went between Vienneau's pads. MacLeod increased the lead at 14:02 after he unloaded a wrist shot from the slot that beat Vienneau glove side.

Sudbury went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Brampton wound up 1-for-4.
