Prophet scores twice as the Spirit beat the 67's 8-3

OTTAWA - Brandon Prophet scored twice as the Saginaw Spirit downed the host Ottawa 67's 8-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Vincent Trocheck had a goal and two assists for the Spirit (7-10-2) while Andrey Alexeev and Jimmy Lodge each had a goal and an assist.

Eric Locke, David Perklin and Brandon Lindberg each scored once to round out Saginaw's offence.

Sean Monahan had two goals and an assist for the 67's (6-10-2) and Steven Janes added a single goal.

Jake Paterson stopped 31 shots for the win as Jacob Blair turned away 39-of-47 shots in a losing effort.

Saginaw went 1-for-5 on the power play while Ottawa went 2-for-2 with the man advantage.
