KINGSTON, Ont. - Mike Morrison stopped all 28 shots he faced as the Kingston Frontenacs blanked the visiting Belleville Bulls 2-0 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.
"The guys played good infront of me, it was a good game for us, it proves we can play with anybody in this league," said Morrison after the win.
Henri Ikonen scored the winning goal at 15:15 of the third period for the Frontenacs (9-9-0) while Sam Bennett added Kingston's other goal into an empty net.
Ikonen came out from behind the net and beat Belleville goatender Malcolm Subban through the five-hole for the game winner.
Subban stopped 36-of-37 shots in a losing effort for the Bulls (9-6-2).
"He's playing fantastic, it's good that we beat him tonight," said Morrison about Subban. "I think it's going to be a lot tougher next time."
Neither club could produce with the extra man as Kingston went 0-for-3 on the power play while Belleville went 0-for-2.
Belleville's Daniil Zharkov was forced to leave the game briefly in the second period after being high-sticked by Kingston's Ryan Hanes, who was given a four minute double-minor on the play. Zharkov would return later in the period.
