ROCHESTER, N.Y. - David Leggio made 29 saves as the Rochester Americans squandered a two-goal lead but held on to beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in American Hockey League play Friday.

Phil Varone, Brian Flynn and Marcus Foligno each scored in the shootout for the Americans (6-2-1), while Zemgus Girgensons and Kevin Porter scored in regulation.

Rochester held a 2-0 lead after Girgensons scored in the first period and Porter added a power-play goal 2:02 into the third.

But Hamilton (3-2-2) forced extra time after goals by Brendan Gallagher and Darryl Boyce, who was the only Bulldog to beat Leggio in the shootout.
