NHL.com wants you -- the fan -- to vote on the most compelling play, moment or topic of the week. We'll select goals, hits, saves and other clips from the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs that require your opinion. There's no wrong answer ... we simply want to know what you think.

Each year, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are defined by the game-breaking performances that lift teams to new heights in pursuit of hockey's greatest prize. While there were many impressive individual showings this postseason on both ends of the ice, NHL.com will take a look a pair of compelling playoff hat tricks.

With all due respect to three-goal showings by Jordan Staal (Game 4, ECQF) and Claude Giroux (Game 2, ECQF), we're putting the following pair of playoff hat tricks up for debate to see which was more impressive:

1. Jeff Carter registered the first Kings' playoff hat trick since Wayne Gretzky in 1993, helping eventual Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles blank the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-0, in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

2. Flyers' rookie Sean Couturier notched his first career playoff hat trick, lifting Philadelphia to a gutsy 8-5 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

Vote now and feel free to comment on the plays as well.
