KITCHENER, Ont. - Scott Wedgewood stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Plymouth Whalers shutout the host Kitchener Rangers 2-0 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.
Matthew Mistele and Andy Bathgate scored 66 seconds apart for the Whalers, who lost Game 1 to Kitchener by the same score, while their leading scorer Stefan Noesen failed to pickup a point for the first time in five outings.
Dating back to the first round, Rangers' goaltender John Gibson went 133 minutes without letting in a goal before Mistele beat him early in the third period.
Gibson finished the game with 43 saves in a losing effort.
Neither club could score with the power play as Plymouth went 0 for 2 and Kitchener went 0 for 5.
The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for Tuesday in Plymouth at the Compuware Arena.
