• The second overall selection in the 2015 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft collected 3-23—26 in 69 contests in 2015-16 to lead Saskatoon Blades rookies in assists and points.

• Before moving to North America, Hajek won a bronze medal with HC Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga in 2014-15, splitting the season between the club’s professional and juniors teams. He also captured gold and silver medals with the organization in 2012-13 and 2013-14, respectively.

• Hajek made the decision to join the Blades after hearing positive reviews of the organization from Prince Albert Raiders forward and close friend Simon Stransky (No. 48 NA Skater). Stransky’s brother, Matej Stransky, played with Saskatoon from 2010-13 and has skated the past three seasons with the Dallas Stars’ American Hockey League affiliate.

• The Smrcek, Czech Republic native represented his country at the last two editions of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial, earning a silver medal in 2014. He also competed at the 2015 and 2016 Under-18 World Championships and 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• He lists Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty as his favorite NHL player.
