• Steel collected 23-47—70 in 72 regular-season contests with the Regina Pats in 2015-16 and added 6-10—16 in 12 postseason games.

• He ranked fourth among WHL rookies in 2014-15 after registering 17-37—54 through 61 games.

• Steel spent the majority of 2013-14 with the Sherwood Park Kings of the Alberta Midget Hockey League (7-16—23 in 14 GP). He also helped Team Alberta win a gold medal at the Western Canada Challenge Cup that season and was named to the tournament All-Star Team.

• He posted 52-52—104 in 31 games for the Sherwood Park Flyers of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League in 2012-13, helping the Flyers win an Alberta Cup championship and earning Most Sportsmanlike Player and Top Forward honors.

• Internationally, Steel was part of Canada’s gold medal entry at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial (1-2—3 in 4 GP) and served as alternate captain of Canada Black at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (1-2—3 in 5 GP).
