• In his breakout season in the Western Hockey League, Wagner was one of eight Pats to score 20 goals in 2014-15. He finished with 39 points (20-19—39) in 61 games to help Regina clinch second in the East Division.

• A constant threat while shorthanded, Wagner tallied eight shorthanded points (5-3—8) in 2014-15 to finish one back of the League lead. Oliver Bjorkstrand (selected 89th overall by CBJ in 2013) was one of only two WHL players with more shorthanded goals than Wagner.

• Wagner played the first nine years of his hockey career with the Blackfoot Minor Hockey Association before joining the Calgary Northstars. He led the Northstars with four goals and five points (tied) in five games at the 2012 Alberta Cup, an under-16 development event.

• Though his favorite NHL team is the Vancouver Canucks, Wagner got his start in hockey at age three after seeing the Calgary Flames play. He grew up idolizing Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, who played in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen.

• Wagner also grew up playing lacrosse as a goaltender.
