• In 2014-15, Strome won the Ontario Hockey League scoring title after registering 129 points (45-84—129) in 68 games, setting Erie Otters franchise records for assists and points in a season. He followed that up with 10-12—22 in 20 postseason contests before Erie fell to Oshawa in the OHL Final.

• Strome, who was awarded the William Hanley Trophy as the most sportsmanlike player of the year, won the scoring title on the final day of the regular-season with a six-point performance (4-2—6) in an 8-7 win over Niagara to finish ahead of fellow 2015 NHL Draft prospect Mitchell Marner (ranked No. 6) of the London Knights (44-82—126).

• Internationally, Strome was a member of Canada’s gold-medal squad at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial, registering six points (5-1—6) in five games. He also led Team Ontario and tied for fourth overall with 11 points (6-5—11) at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

• Strome averaged more than two points per game in 2012-13 as captain of the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League, finishing the season with 143 points (65-78—143) in 60 games en route to being named GTHL Player of the Year.

• His older brother is New York Islanders forward Ryan Strome, who was drafted fifth overall by the team in 2011.
