• DeBrincat posted his second straight 100-point season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League in 2015-16, collecting 51-50—101 in 60 games to earn OHL Third All-Star Team honors. He continued his prolific scoring in the postseason, recording 8-11—19 through 13 games before the Otters were eliminated in the Western Conference Final by the London Knights.

• In his first OHL season in 2014-15, DeBrincat led all rookies in goals (51), assists (53) and points (104) and was named Canadian Hockey League Rookie of the Year, OHL Rookie of the Year, to the OHL First All-Rookie Team and the OHL Second All-Star Team. In the postseason, DeBrincat led all rookies with 9-7—16 in 20 games before the Otters were eliminated in the OHL Championship Series by the Oshawa Generals.

• DeBrincat was a member of Team USA’s bronze medal entry at the 2016 World Junior Championship.

• His brother, Andrew DeBrincat, is a defenseman who played for American International College (NCAA) in 2015-16.

• A Michigan native, DeBrincat lists Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk as his favorite NHL player.
