• McDavid led the Ontario Hockey League in playoff scoring with 21-28—49 in 20 games, the most points in an OHL postseason since Justin Papineau's record of 51 in 1999, to help the Otters advance to the Final before falling to Oshawa in five games. He was named Most Valuable Player of the 2015 OHL Playoffs and set a franchise record for most points in a single playoff series, remarkably in a second round sweep of London, registering 8-6—14 in four games.

• McDavid, who was named OHL Player of the Year 2014-15, finished third in scoring with 120 points (44-76—120) in 47 games to help the Erie Otters (50-14-2-2, 104 points) finish first in the Midwest Division and second in the Western Conference.

• On top of his OHL honors, McDavid was also named Canadian Hockey League Player of the Year, Top Prospect of the Year and Scholastic Player of the Year.

• A member of Canada’s gold medal-winning entry at the 2015 World Junior Championship, McDavid tied for the tournament lead with 11 points (3-8—11), led the tournament in assists and was named to the media all-star team.

• McDavid was granted exceptional player status by Hockey Canada to be eligible for the 2012 OHL Priority Selection as a 15-year-old. In his first season, he finished tops among rookies with 41 assists (25-41—66), was named OHL Rookie of the Year and also was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team.

• In his sophomore season of 2013-14, McDavid finished fourth in the OHL with 99 points (28-71—99) in 56 games. He added 19 points (4-15—19) in 14 playoff games before the Otters were eliminated in the Western Conference Championship. McDavid was named OHL Most Sportsmanlike Player and the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year.

• Internationally, McDavid also won gold with Canada at the 2013 Under-18 World Junior Championship, where he led the tournament in goals (8), assists (6) and points (14) to be named the Best Forward and Most Valuable Player.

• McDavid averaged more than two points per game and was named Greater Toronto Hockey League Player of the Year in 2011-12 as a member of the minor midget Toronto Marlboros, finishing with 209 points (79-130—209) in 88 games.
