• In 2014-15, Meier led Halifax in goals (44) and finished second on the team with 90 points (44-46—90) in 61 games, including a franchise-record 23 power-play goals. He also paced the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and tied for second place in the Canadian Hockey League with 10 game-winning goals.

• Meier added 21 points (10-11—21) in 14 postseason games before Halifax fell to Moncton in the second round. He scored three of the club’s seven game-winning goals, including the decisive marker in double-overtime in Game 5 against Shawinigan.

• Meier registered at least a point in 27 consecutive games from Nov. 22 to Feb. 26, compiling 28-23—51 in that span. His 27-game run tied for the second-longest point streak in the CHL in 2014-15 (w/ Connor McDavid, No. 1 NA Skater), behind teammate Nikolaj Ehlers’ (selected ninth overall by WPG in 2014) franchise record 33-game streak.

• He has represented Switzerland at a variety of international events, including the 2015 World Junior Championship where he collected six points (2-4—6) and a plus-2 rating in six games while playing on a line with Kevin Fiala (selected 11th overall by NSH in 2014).

• Meier, who is the highest-ranked player from the QMJHL, was named the League’s best professional prospect at their annual Golden Puck Awards.

• The Herisau, Switzerland native is fluent in four languages (Swiss, French, English and German).
