• In 33 games with the U.S. Under-18 National Training Development Program in 2008-09, Palmieri had 15 goals, including four game-winners, and 30 points (15-15-30).

• Before playing for the U.S. NTDP, Palmieri was a member of the New Jersey Devils Under-16 team and St. Peter’s Prep in New Jersey. While playing for St. Peter’s Prep he had the chance to meet Devils forward Zach Parise for winning the High School Player of the Month award in February 2007.

• Participated in the 2008 Under-18 World Championships, helping the U.S. win a bronze medal, finishing with four points (2-2-4) in seven games. At the 2008 Five Nations Tournament, Palmieri scored a hat trick to lead the U.S. to a gold medal in a 5-3 victory over Finland.

• He got his start in hockey on a friend’s backyard rink at the age of five before playing on his first hockey team, the Sport-O-Rama Griffins.

• Palmieri credits his father for having the most influence on his career and his childhood hockey hero was Mark Messier – “I’ve always been a huge Ranger fan”.

• His most embarrassing hockey moment was falling over the boards running on to the ice after showing up late for the second period in a game against Finland.

• Bud Harrelson, former coach, manager and player for the New York Mets, is his godfather.
