• A puck-moving defenseman comfortable at both ends of the ice, Bean finished first among Western Hockey League defensemen with 24 goals and 12 power-play goals in 68 games for the Calgary Hitmen in 2015-16 earning WHL (East) Second All-Star Team honors.
• After going undrafted in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, Bean made his hometown Hitmen after a tryout with the club and set a franchise record for points by a rookie defenseman with 5-34—39 in 51 games in 2014-15.
• Internationally, Bean was part of Canada’s gold medal entry at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial. At the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Bean was named to the tournament all-star team after leading Canada Black (tied) with 1-3—4 in 5 games.
