• Tufte ranked second in goals (47) and third in points (tied; 78) among Minnesota high school players in 2015-16, his fourth season with the Bengals and second as captain. He earned First Team All-USA honors for his efforts.

• He made the “Let’s Play Hockey” call before a Minnesota Wild game on March 6, 2016, hours after being named Mr. Hockey as the top senior skater in the Minnesota high school circuit.

• Tufte often draws comparisons to Florida Panthers forward Nick Bjugstad, who also wore No. 27 and won the Mr. Hockey award while playing at Blaine on a team with Tufte’s older brother, Gavin.

• The Ham Lake, Minn., native won a silver medal with the United States at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and also represented his country at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial.

• Tufte, who was diagnosed with diabetes at age 11, has committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the fall of 2016.
