• Played for the University of Notre Dame in 2010-11. As a freshman, he led the team in points (54) and was second in goals (23) in 44 games, helping the Irish reach the NCAA Frozen Four; he was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Rookie of the Year for his performance.
• A Chicago Mission minor hockey product, Tynan, played for Des Moines in the United States Hockey League in 2009-10. He led the team in points with 72 (17-55--72) in 60 games, earning USHL All Rookie Team honors.
