• Has committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the fall of 2011.
• In his first season in the United States Hockey League, Welinski had 14 points (6-8--14) in 51 games – when he registered on the score sheet in 2010-11 Green Bay was 13-1-1. He recorded two goals in the first two games against Indiana to open the Clark Cup Playoffs.
• He got his start in hockey at the age of four living close to a hockey rink in Duluth and competed in the Minnesota State hockey championship with Duluth East High School before moving to the USHL.
