• In 2012-13, Subban finished sixth among Ontario Hockey League defensemen with 51 points in 68 regular-season games (15-36--51). Exceptional on shootouts, he scored on 5-of-6 attempts (83.3%, including three shootout game-winners) to rank third overall in the OHL and first among defensemen.
• Internationally, Subban helped Team Canada earn a gold medal at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and played for Ontario’s bronze-medal team at the 2012 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.
• Subban is the youngest of five children: his brother P.K., selected 43rd overall in 2007, completed his third NHL season with the Canadiens in 2012-13, winning the Norris Trophy as the League’s best defenseman; his brother Malcolm, a Belleville goaltender and teammate, was selected 24th overall in 2012 by the Bruins; and his oldest sister, Natassia, played basketball at York University, finishing her playing career in 2004 as the Ontario University Athletics’ all-time leading scorer in women’s basketball – she is now a teacher alongside Jordan’s other sister, Natasha.
