On his style of play: I think it's a lot of fun to kind of relax, play my game. I think speed is usually what I can do best. I try to beat guys wide or beat guys one-on-one. And I like to score.
On pattering his game after Daniel Briere and Sidney Crosby: I think you watch guys like Sidney Crosby or even Daniel Briere, I think I play a similar style to Daniel Briere. I like watching
On getting his start in hockey: I started skating when I was two years old. My mom tells me that I always had a stick in my hand whenever I was downstairs and stuff like that. I just had a passion for hockey. I started when I was six years old, and played on my first league team there for the Fort Macleod Panthers. Ever since then I've been having a lot of fun with it.
On the biggest influences in his career: (My parents have) been huge for my career. They've given me so much support. They've given up so much to help me, and, obviously, driving me to the rink every day. Also, helping me make huge decisions and where I should play and types of things like that. So they've helped me a lot.
On loving the game at a young age: I think it's just so much fun. You get to meet so many new people and make so many friends. That is one of the best things about it. When I was young I was always playing street hockey on the cul-de-sac, and that is pretty much what I'd do all day when I wasn't at school. So that has helped me be motivated.
On playing for Team
On winning the gold-medal game in overtime: I was on the bench. And I think I jumped 10 feet in the air and jumped over the boards. Pretty much went into the scrum as quick as I could. I remember Brad Marchand actually missed the scrum and went right over. There was just so much emotion. We went through so much together. Obviously, we faced a lot of adversity, losing to Team
On the support of his extended family in
On his thoughts about the Draft: You try not to think about the rankings and the draft as much as you can. It can kind of take away from your game, but obviously, it's there and it's in the back of your mind. I'm playing with the Lethbridge Hurricanes right now, that's my main goal is to go as far into the playoffs with them as I can, and play my best every night and every shift. And things will take care of itself.
On the most embarrassing song on his iPod: My most embarrassing song on my iPod is from Celine Dion, "It's all coming back to me now."
On his most embarrassing hockey moment: My most embarrassing hockey moment is when I was in a novice hockey tournament, and we went into overtime, but it was the overtime where the goalies are pulled. So you get an extra guy out there. And I tried passing the puck back to the D-man, and the D-man missed it, and it went in our own net. So we lost the final game of the tournament.
On his favorite book: My favorite book is "Wayne Gretzky’s" biography.
On his favorite place to shop: My favorite place to shop is Footlocker, I like buying shoes and stuff.
