In five of his first seasons in the NHL, he helped guide the Predators to Stanley Cup Playoff berths. In 2002-03, Horachek served as head coach of Nashville’s primary developmental affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. He guided the Admirals to a 32-27-14-7 record and their first playoff series victory since 1998. Prior to becoming head coach of the Admirals, Horachek, a former head coach/director of hockey operations for the ECHL’s Nashville Knights, won championships as a coach and a player. In 2000-01, Horachek coached the Orlando Solar Bears to the International Hockey League championship. The Solar Bears went 12-4 in the Turner Cup Playoffs and Horachek was named the 2001 IHL Coach of the Year. |

The Stoney Creek, Ont., native took over the coaching duties for Orlando in 1999 after serving as an assistant the previous four seasons. After the Orlando franchise ceased operations following the 2000-01 season, Horachek coached the Trenton Titans of the ECHL to a Northern Conference Championship (46-16-10, .708) in 2001-02. Horachek began his coaching career in the IHL as an assistant coach with Saginaw in 1987-88. He spent one year as a player/assistant coach with Flint, and another as a player/head coach in Norway. Horachek was named head coach/director of hockey operations for the Nashville Knights (ECHL) in 1990. As a player, Horachek held the title of team captain in four of his five seasons with the Saginaw/Flint Generals and won a Turner Cup Championship in 1984. In 545 career professional games, he tallied 188 goals and 238 assists (188g-238a-426pts). Horachek and his wife, Stacy, reside in Franklin, Tenn. His son, Cullen, is 18 years old. |
