The New Westminster, B.C. native, spent the past two seasons coaching Calgary's goaltending prospects with the Abbotsford Heat.

Sigalet replaces Clint Malarchuk, who parted ways with the Flames in March after three seasons.

Sigalet was the goaltending coach for the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips prior to joining the Flames organization.
Sigalet was a seventh-round draft pick of the Boston Bruins in 2001. He was a conference all-star twice during his three seasons at Bowling Green University.

Sigalet played three seasons in the AHL with the Providence Bruins and retired in 2009 after one season in Vienna, Austria.
