DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Jan. 26

Tuesday, 01.26.2016 / 11:30 AM | Eric Goodman  - NHL.com Fantasy Staff Writer

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

Boone Jenner, C, Columbus Blue Jackets

DraftKings price: $4,800

The Blue Jackets visit the Montreal Canadiens in the back end of their home-and-home series Tuesday. Jenner proved to be a great value pick Monday with three assists, three blocked shots and two shots on goal in a 5-2 win. The second-line forward has been dependable against Montreal in his career with five points (two goals, three assists), four blocked shots and 15 SOG in four games.

Mike Cammalleri, C, New Jersey Devils

DraftKings price: $5,200

Cammalleri leads New Jersey with 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists) through 41 games this season, eight fewer games than forwards Lee Stempniak and Kyle Palmieri who are second and third on the Devils in scoring, respectively. The veteran forward has been solid recently and should provide a good return on investment on the road against the Pittsburgh Penguins; Cammalleri has six points (two goals, four assists) and six SOG in the past six games.

Alexander Edler, D, Vancouver Canucks

DraftKings price: $5,000

Edler will try for a three-game point streak when the Canucks host the Nashville Predators. The Canucks' top defenseman at regular strength and on the power play has two assists, three blocked shots and two SOG in the past two games. Edler offers a great bang for the buck in DraftKings lineups as he leads all Vancouver defensemen with six goals, 14 assists and 97 SOG through 48 games.

Craig Anderson, G, Ottawa Senators

DraftKings price: $7,900

Anderson is tied for the sixth-most expensive goaltender, but he should be worth it on a nine-game night in the NHL. The combination of playing at home against the Buffalo Sabres is reason enough for owners to take the chance on Anderson as the veteran goalie is 12-3-1 with two shutouts and a 2.18 goals-against average in 17 games against Buffalo and has an 11-4-3 record with three shutouts and a 2.18 GAA in 18 home games this season.
